For the first time, a sensitive, fast, efficient, simple, and convenient high-performance liquid chromatography method has been established for quantification of gallic acid, 1,3,6-trigalloyl glucose (TGG), and 1,2,3,4,6-pentagalloyl glucose (PGG) in acetone extracts of Tibetan medicine Terminalia bellirica (Gaertn.) Roxb. (T. bellirica) plant fruit. The content of gallic acid, TGG, and PGG in T. bellirica are 1.95 ± 0.02%, 1.09 ± 0.04%, and 1.18 ± 0.03% respectively. According to statistical analysis of the experimental results, the error level in a single random measurement of TGG in T. bellirica with a 95% confidence interval was 4.32%.
