A biomimetic synthesis of (±)-corynoline, (±)-11-epicorynoline, (±)-isocorynoline, and (±)-11-epiisocorynoline from corysamine.
METHODS AND RESULTS:
A novel and efficient synthesis of hexahydrobenzo[c]phenanthridine alkaloids, (±)-corynoline, (±)-11-epicorynoline, (+)-Isocorynoline, (-)-isocorynoline,and (±)-11-epiisocorynoline was accomplished from protoberberine alkaloid, corysamine through a biogenetic route.
